Experience:
  • Geotechnical and environmental drilling and sampling
  • Hollow-stem augers: 2-1/4 inch to 12-1/4 inch inside diameter
  • Solid-stem augers: 4 and 6 inch diameter
  • Air rotary drilling using air hammer and tricone methods (4", 6" and 8" diameter)
  • Mud rotary drilling
  • Direct-push sampling
  • Pavement coring up to 18 inch diameter
  • 2- and 3-inch diameter Shelby tube samples (12- to 30-inch lengths)
  • 2- and 3-inch diameter split-barrel samplers (steel and stainless steel)
  • Continuous tube sampling (5-foot lengths)
  • Packer testing of bedrock core holes for permeability
  • Slug testing of wells for permeability
  • Installation of monitoring wells, piezometers, gas probes, leachate wells, recovery wells, and lysimeters using PVC or steel materials, 3/4-inch to 10-inch diameter
  • Geotechnical instrumentation installations (inclinometers)
  • Pressuremeter testing of soil and bedrock
  • Bedrock coring to depths of 350 feet using double or triple tube core barrels (AQ, NQ, NQ2, NQ3, HQ3)

Drilling Rigs:

  • CME 750 and CME 750X on low pressure rubber tire carrier (good for off road drilling, set up for wireline bedrock coring, air rotary drilling, mud rotary drilling, and hollow-stem auger drilling.  Hydraulic automatic hammer for consistent blow counts.)
  • CME 550X on low pressure rubber tire carrier (good for off road drilling.  Can angle drill.  Set up for wireline bedrock coring, air rotary drilling, mud rotary drilling, and hollow-stem auger drilling.  Has a split-tower to allow  working in areas with height restrictions.  Hydraulic automatic hammer for consistent blow counts.)
  • Simco 2800 on tracked Bombardier carrier (good for working in areas with very soft soils - best suited for blind drilling or hollow-stem auger drilling with sampling.  Soil sampling via cathead and 140-pound safety hammer.)
  • CME 55 on single-axle Chevrolet Kodiak truck (best suited for bridge borings and on road soil borings.  Set up for bedrock coring, mud rotary drilling, and hollow-stem auger drilling).
  • CME 75 on tandem axle Freightliner truck (best suited for bridge borings, on-road borings, and monitoring well installations.  Set up for bedrock coring, mud rotary drilling, and hollow-stem auger drilling).  Will drill with up to 10-1/4-inch inside diameter hollow-stem augers.
  • CME 95 on tri-axle Mack truck (best suited for air rotary drilling with a tricone bit or down-the-hole hammer, mud rotary drilling with a tricone bit, or hollow-stem augers).  Will drill with up to 12-1/4-inch inside diameter hollow-stem augers.  We've used the rig to install 10-inch diameter double-cased wells, piezometers and monitoring wells into bedrock, and 4-inch diameter steel leachate wells at landfills.
